JOHN CONSTABLE

English Romantic painter (1776 - 1837), is known for his landscape paintings. His work is dear to my heart because, being an Englishwoman, his beautifully rendered paintings of my wonderful country truly encapsulate Britain and the general atmosphere. The palette is generally rather muted, while there is a variety of colours, they all have a grey undertone, which anyone who has visited the United Kingdom knows, is the underlying tone to the great outdoors.
